Needs more info: How lactose intolerance was diagnosed at the outset? Did it occur after intestinal flu? Did the baby have the intolerance ever since he was born? Answer to the question does make a difference. Also i would like to know if he was found to be allergic to cow's milk, or he had lactose intolerance. If he has lots of gass with cow milk based formula, maybe he should switch back to the original formula.

I would expect it: If he is truly lactose intolerant (?) the sugar in regular milk is lactose and he will not digest it properly. The germs in his gut would & the result would be excess gas production. He may not have the looser stools he had when younger now that he's bigger, but I would expect this. We don't recommend they go off formula before a year. When he does he may need lactose free milk.
