Possible polyp: You may have a polyp on your voice box. Check with an ent.

Multiple causes: You could have a vocal cord polyp or nodule, you could also have reflux disease which may be more likely. Even if you do have the former, conservative treatment is the same. Speak in a normal voice - no screaming or whispering. Try to drink enough water and reduce spicy or salty foods. Prilosec otc may help if taken for 4 - 6 weeks. If it continues see an otoloaryngologist for a laryngoscopy.
