It Depends: It depends on why you are taking a shower. To clean the skin, soap and water, regardless of temperature. If your muscles are sore and tight, you're getting ready for activities, or your joints/back aches in the morning, then a hot shower may help relax and relieve the pain and tension. If you are sore after a workout, feeling hot, or you're feeling itchy, then a cool shower may feel better.

Is showering in cold water good for you?

Neither good nor bad: Cold showers can be invigorating and should cause no harm for healthy individuals. Persons with raynaud's syndrome can't tolerate cold on extremities, thus they may want to avoid cold showers.
