Surgical Slings: Yes, most likely. The surgical sling procedure involves the insertion of a so-called mesh. You should seek a second opinion if your gynecologist does not, for whatever reason, explain the procedure in detail to you. Having said that, periodic follow up with a specialist will ensure proper monitoring of your procedure and hopefully avoid any complications.

Don't know.: If your doc won't answer you after reasonable and documented attempts you may have a broken doctor. It would be reasonable to discuss this with the state licensing board. The operative report will document specifically what implants were used.

Yes - one mesh: Those are two different products -- you should have a specialist look at your records -- a urogynecologist, gynecologist, or a female-specific urologist. The vaginal halo is a mesh sling placed for stress incontinence (leakage with cough/ sneeze). There were multiple products under the surgisis label -- a sling as well as larger pieces for prolapse. Surgisis is not mesh -- it is collagen.
