Glaucoma: Remember glaucoma is a slowly progressive condition. Treatment is important. Monitoring it as recommended should relieve your anxiety. No one needs to go blind if they are treated early and properly and monitored timely by ophthalmologists . I come across badly managed glaucoma in my practice but rarely one in the care of an ophthalmologist. Usually in cases of denial and poor compliance.

Master it. : The revered physician sir william osler once said that the best way to ensure longevity was to get a chronic condition early enough and learn to manage it well. Follow your eye doctor's recommendations closely. Do your very best to manage your glaucoma and your routine will eventually become second nature. The initial sense of loss can be mitigated by a growing sense of mastery.

RELAX: Follow your ophthalmologists directions. Youre going to treat it. Very low probability youre about to go blind when you treat it properly. Jumping to the worst possibility is reflex; checking probability is the best way. Then doing whats right makes things work out.
