Don't recommend it: The alcohol will decrease the hormone prolactin & decrease your output, the alcohol also transfers into the milk as it is made. The alcohol & its breakdown products have negative effects on babies brain development, which is in rapid growth mode in the early months & never really stops until adulthood. There is no known safe level of alcohol exposure for infants.

Try to limit alcohol: No set guideline on how much is safe. Remember that alcohol does pass through breastmilk and babies clear it slower than adults. Daily drinking and breastfeeding may cause sleep pattern and motor issues for the baby. One expert suggests that if you do drink, wait 3 hrs for 12oz of 5% beer, 5oz of 11% wine or 1.5oz of 40% liquor, depending on your body weight. Better to limit and avoid daily drinks.
