Go see your doctor: Ask why feet are swollen. If it's due to heart or kidney failure, hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) is a pretty weak water pill. If hctz (hydrochlorothiazide) is supposed to treat high blood pressure, then it's fine. But another high blood pressure medication, amlodipine, can also cause swelling in feet. Swollen feet can also be due to bad valves in veins (venous insufficiency), which is purely mechanical issue & requires no treatment.

Swollen feet : You should have her doctor see her to evaluate her edema. She may need a stronger, loop, diuretic such as furosemide. At her age, she probably has chronic kidney disease (ckd) and hydorchlorothiazie (hctz) diuretics are not able to make her kidneys produce adequate amounts of urine to get rid of her swelling. Edema's other causes are a low Albumin or worsening heart failure.
