Near complete tear: The rotator cuff of your shoulder is composed of 4 muscle and the supraspinatus is the on sitting on top--see pic. High grade partial tear means it is dangerously close to a complete tear. In this case, it means only the top portion/layer of this muscle is still attached; thus caution or else a complete tear can occur. Return to exercisde is likely after pt but caution with heavy wt. Good luck.

Possibly : Will take 6-8 weeks of physical therapy plus independent exercises(per therapist) to see recovery. If not, consider MRI arthrogram, done with dye injected into shoulder, artrthroscopy or another orthopedic consult.

Hmmm: Mr lies? Mri (especially if done with arthrogram) is a very good way of looking at the rotator cuff and other structures and does not lie or show pathology that is not there. Your orthopedist may disagree with the radiologist's read. Perhaps a 3rd opinion can serve as a tie-breaker to see who is "right" about the injury you have in your shoulder. Go slowly and be patient with rehab. Good luck!
