Look and feel.: Generally bacterial infection is heralded by redness or red streaking, swelling of the local area, warmth at the site, discharge, and maybe more systemic and distant signs like fever, chills, and swollen lymph nodes. Viral infection and other blood born infections such as hepatitis and HIV viruses may not give you local symptoms at all.
