A member asked:

Lidocaine injections for endometriosis, good idea? side effects? how do they inject them? do they work?

Not likely: Lidocaine is not likely to be helpful for endometriosis. Others injections are much more likely to help, such as depo-lupron, which can suppress estrogen production. When the estrogen is suppressed, the endometriosis is suppressed, and your symptoms will likely improve. Hope you feel better soon.

No: There is no data suggesting that Lidocaine injections will help with the treatment of endometriosis. Once endometriosis is confirmed, the "gold" standard being by diagnostic laparoscopy, it can be either cauterized (burned) or laser vaporized at the time of surgery. There are also like Lupron (leuprolide) that are very effective in treating endo. You should discuss all the available options with your gyn.
