Who is most prone to having cushing syndrome?

Rare disease: Cushing's syndrome is more prevalent in women than in men, but it is a relatively rare disease. The incidence is about 4 cases per million people. An endocrinologist may see a couple new cases per year.

Cushing's syndrome: Cushing's syndrome can be caused by high level of steroid medications, adrenal enlargement or tumors, or pituitary tumors stimulating the adrenals. Of these, medication induced cushing's is the most common.
