ETD : The et drains and ventilates the middle ear. If its tight then vacuum behind drum and ear feels full, possible mild hearing loss, and hard to clear with elevation changes. Can be worsened or caused by colds, allergy, or anatomy. Sometimes it is too open, the ear feels full and can hear speech and breathing coming from the inside. Usually there is no cure for either type.

Ear fullness: The eustachian tube is a muscular tube which connects the middle ear with the back of the nose. It 's function is to equalize the air pressure in the middle ear. It can dysfunction when it gets swollen or closed during a cold, allergies or barotrauma ( pressure changes during flying or scuba diving). Decongestants may help. A consult with your doctor should be obtained before starting treatment
