Complex topic: Cochlear hydrops seems to be early form of Ménière’s disease with patient experiencing full feeling in ear, fluctuating hearing loss, and sometimes tinnitus. Usually treated medically first with diuretics, low salt diet, and vasodilator, and for patients not improving a shunt procedure has shown some benefit. Vertigo may develop in longer term cases if not treated successfully.Evaluation by ENT !

Location of lesion: Cochlear hydrops affects the cochlea in the inner ear. Hair cells in cochlea convert the sound waves into electrical signals for the brain. Eustachian tube is part of the middle ear and affects the air pressure in the middle ear. Nasopharyngeal tumors at located at the top of the throat, and may invade the brain.
