See ophthalmologist: A red spot on the iris usually indicates blood. This is most unusual. Are you sure it is on the iris, the colored part of the eye, and not over the sclera, the white part? This would be more likely and usually is of little significance. Best advise is to have it checked.

See your doctor: It is hard to say exactly what this could be without seeing it. If it is indeed on the iris, it warrants a visit to your eye doctor. That would be the only way to get a good diagnosis and reassurance.
