Piriformis?: With a normal MRI and bloodwork, pain in hip, buttock and legs may result from piriformis syndrome. The piriformis muscle is deep in the buttock, is an external rotator of the hip and the sciatic nerve exits the pelvis under this muscle. If the muscle is tight, it can put pressure on the nerve and mimic symptoms of a radiculopathy. This can be evaluated by a pm&r specialist, orthopedist or pt.
