A member asked:

Diabetic with elevated wbcs in blood combined with proteinuria. primary gave ace inhibitor. should i see specialist?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Inflammation: Diabetes is characterized by a low grade inflammation. Many markers of inflammation are increased, including wbc, crp, tnf, others, even though there is no active infection. The ace-i is definately the right thing for the proteinuria. For the inflammation, weight loss (if obese) is best. Sounds like your doctor is doing the right thing, although an endocrinologist visit may not hurt.
