Probably not: You should see an orthopedic surgeon. If you have symptoms and exam indicating a labral tear the most definitive test is an MRI of the hip after an arthrogram. This test requires an injection of contrast in your hip joint. You could also talk to your family md about possibility of shingles if you have intense pain that wraps around your back and if you had chicken pox as a child.
