Maybe: Octreotide does have a role here and there are several small studies that show that it helps control disease and may prolong survival. I would have her also see a surgeon who specializes in this to make sure she is truly inoperable.

There are others: For pancreatic neuroendocrine tumors there are other agents that have been shown to improve survival. In symptomatic patients, octreotide is used to control symptoms, but only improves long term survival in certain patients. How we decide what treatment to use is based on the pattern of spread, disease burden, and grade of the tumor.
