Get rid of infection: Chronic infection of the teeth should be resolved asap to prevent situation like this. Most often chronic infection does not cause any pain and thus is ignored by the patient. However, it should be emphasized that a chronic condition will worsen and become acute in times and it will be very hard to treat and thus resulting in tooth loss or severe bone destruction.

Deal with infections: Long term dental or gum infections can cause heart disease because it allows a direct pathway for oral bacteria to get into your bloodstream. You must deal with the infections with proper treatment such as root canals, extractions, or deep cleanings(for the gums). If not you will be heading for more heart issues in the future. Don't ever leave dental infections untreated.
