Red Eye: Pink eye is often viral in origin. It may spread from one eye to the other, and even spread back to the first eye. Most cases of pink eye are self-limited, lasting from 2 to 4 weeks. During that time, cold compresses and artificial tears may be soothing. Do not share towels or pillows and keep surfaces like doorknobs cleaned with lysol wipes to prevent transmission.
