A member asked:

Are clinical exams for hip impingement always accurate? i.e. can they miss it

No: No test is perfect, nor is the clinician. So certainly the diagnosis of hip impingement can sometimes be missed. Usually the diagnosis relies on a detailed history, exam, and appropriate radiologic studies. If your concerns are not addressed by your physician, it is not unreasonable to consider a second opinion. Thank you for your question.
