Radiation from CT: Mri has electromagnetic radiation, as do all electronic devices, but it does not produce ionizing radiation, which is what causes cancer. Ct scans on the other hand induce a lot of ionizing radiation (approximately 400 times more than a chest x-ray). Experts currently estimate that 2% of all cancers are due to ct scans. So keep track of the number of ct scans you get. Sometimes you should say no.

CAT or CT scan: X-ray is one or a few exposures to radiation. Ct has dozens or hundreds of exposures, although much thinner and more focused. Mri uses magnetic fields, with no x-ray exposure.

CT radiation: Ct has the most. It is the equivalent of multiple x-rays. Mri has no radiation.
