Epiglottis is rare: You can always see your epiglottis with an xray or camera down the nose. Vaccines have made epiglottis much less common.

EPIGLOTITIS: They are common in early childhood with sx of difficulty breathing. Child is usually hospitalized with oxygen inhalation and increased humidity inside the tent. It can occur with bronchitis.

Life threatening: Epiglottis has become extremely rare since the introduction of vaccine for it. It usually affects the epiglottis per se. We don't recommend too much manipulation of the pharyngeal area because it makes matters worse.
