Murmur= extra noise: Murmurs occur when an extra sound occurs. Some just reflect a benign event like the still's murmur thought to be dynamic movement of the heart, a benign flow event like blood coming back from the head in a venous hum, or the noise created by narrowing of flow through a mild narrowing in a blood vessel. Murmurs created by a hole it the chambers or valves were excluded by your studies.

Maybe innocent : Pfo does not cause a murmur. Pfo has been associated with cva. You may have other valvular abnormalities such as bicuspid aortic valve with aortic stenosis or regurgitation (obstruction or leakage), or any problems in other valves such as the mitral valve. Other types of holes in the heart may also cause a murmur. If echo is ok, then it may be just a flow (innocent) murmur.
