Infectious Diarrhea: International travelers may get diarrhea with cramps and often, low grade fever, nausea and vomiting, fatigue, loss of appetite, and sometimes blood in stools. Can try pepto bismol, (bismuth subsalicylate) alka seltzer, but antibiotics most helpful. Most common cause is enterotoxigenic escherichia coli (etec) for which can be hard to test. If high fever, severe chills, dehydration or other signs of concern, get seen.
