A member asked:

Hello, can you please tell me how can i treat phrynoderma beside vitamin a intake? and is this condition curable? thanks

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Phrynoderma: Deficiencies of vitamins a and e, b complex vitamins, and essential fatty acids have all been implicated in the etiology of follicular hyperkeratosis. In developed countries, phrynoderma occurs as a result of malabsorption due to surgical or medical causes, such as small-bowel bypass surgery, colectomy and pancreatic insufficiency. Should consult a dermatologist. Some cases are hereditary.
