Two things come to : Mind-iliotibial band syndrome and trochanteric bursitis. Both are overuse injuries & often due to increasing strenuous activity too quickly. Lay off kb several wks, ice painful areas 3-4 times/d, Ibuprofen x several days. When pain decreases, (3-14d) gradually start resuming activity but with walking, swimming, cycling, elliptical. Add kb very slowly when no pain w these. Doc or pt if not better.
