My son who is 16 months was just on augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate). i think he has a yeast infection now in his genital area. hydrocortisone or nystatin?

Nystatin: If his rash is red & bumpy it could be yeast & Nystatin would help.

Nystatin: Plain nystatin. Hydrocortisone should not be used or be used with caution over the diaper area. Certainly not for a yeast infection.

Miconazole better: Otc azole better but Nystatin should help. Change diaper more frequently, let him spend more time bare.
