That is correct: The blood test indicates that you have been exposed to herpes at some point in the past but tells you nothing about the location of the outbreak nor how likely it is to recur. You may not have had an obvious outbreak, but going forward keep the possibility in mind. The symptoms may be only mild burning or itching but will be localized and always in the same spot.
