Cannot be sure: The most important indicator of how long someone may live with aids is how low is the CD4 count and does the person have any opportunistic infections. You cannot say for sure just how well or poorly someone is doing just by looking at them.

Not necessarily: It does not necessarily mean they will pass away soon. They need a good HIV specialist to care for them. Meds to make appetite increase and build muscle back. Hiv meds to bring the immune system back. Don't lose hope.
