Likely removal: Control of infection with antibiotics and evaluation of wisdom teeth for removal. Most likely they will need to be removed, but that is based upon the angle of the teeth and whether or not there is room enough in your mouth for them to erupt and serve a function if they do. Your dentist can evaluate those factors and discuss it with you.

Extract: You have a condition called peri- coronitis, or inflamed gums that are now infected. Even if this episode clears up with treatment, it is my experience you will continue having problems untitl extraction. Good luck, feel better!

Manage symptoms: Local pharmacies dispense liquid medications for children with a plastic syringe. The tip of the syringe should be placed on the tooth yet under the gum. Salt water is used to gently flush out xs debris. You cannot do this too often, but you can do it too vigorously. Keep in mind that the idea is to remove bacteria, not to draw blood. Combine that with otc pain meds until extraction is scheduled.
