I have been anemic for as long as i can remember but when i had lab work done a couple weeks ago my hct was 45.2 whyat could cause it to be high now?

Hb: The answer would be one of these-- it means you are not anemic anymore- ( which is good)- vs hemoconcentrated ( for instance- dehydration) -vs- lab error vs real elevation of hb f/u with your doctor and have your CBC repeated to confirm. If your hb is confirmed to be elevated-then further w/u can be done accordingly. D/w your doctor.
