Depends on cause: Patients with autism may bite for several reasons depending on the age and level of functioning. If he is really young it may be an exagerration of a behavior many young children exhibit. Determining the triggers and the benefit he gets from the biting are necessary to develop a plan to decrease the behavior. You also need to make sure that pain is not the cause of the biting.
