Potty training: Not likely but a simple ultrasound can rule out many abnormalities. The ability to maintaim relaxation while voiding can cause these symptoms and if the pressures are high the ultrasound can show some signs.

Not really.: Mention it to your child's dr, but there is little reason to have concern about his urinary tract function. The autism is the bigger issue. Being tentative is often part of it. It can affect his toilet training, the motivation and learning involved in maturing in his urinary habits. Just make sure you are doing all you can for his autism, and the rest will sort itself out in time.

Consult pediatrician: Any urine stream issues should be evaluated for anatomical issues of penis, hopefully pediatrician can help or refer to a pediatric urologist for evaluation. Once this has been ruled out, behavior therapy should help.
