How does the procedure for body jet liposuction differ from traditional lipo?

Two points: Body jet can use less pressure to extract fat and hydrates the fat better when trying to transfer the fat removed.

Gimmick: Body jet lipo uses water to remove fat. Traditional lipo uses suction alone. Traditional lipo has stood the test of time as working well and being safe. Every year a new lipo machine enters the market with some cool marketing scheme to make its product sound more innovative and better. They almost never are, and they cost more money to you, the consumer.

Water jet + suction: Traditional lipo uses suction alone to extract the fat via a small metal, tube called a cannula. The body jet uses a high pressure jet of water to loosen and wash the fat and donor site (like sand blasting) and suction to remove the fat. Claims of greater extraction and less bruising are primarily anecdotal.

Be Careful!: Unfortunately for the “consumer”, there are many different terms used to describe the liposuction surgical procedures. Many of these procedures are simply marketing techniques used by different practitioners. Also, unfortunately there is minimal regulation involved when it comes to who can perform these procedures and the terminology employed etc. Patients need to do their own due diligence.

Extremely different: Traditional liposuction involves use of general anesthesia and brute force to dislodge and remove unhealthy and unwanted fat cells.Recovery is longer and more painful. Bodyjet liposuction uses no general anesthesia or IV sedation, causes no trauma to nearby cells and tissues, induces much less bruising, swelling and downtime, .
