A member asked:

Is effectively controlled htn, lipids, and glucose considered a risk factor for cad, absent of other risk factors (i.e. genetic)?

CAD risk factors: There is still increased risk beyond a person who never had these problems, but the risk rapidly approaches that of a person who never had hyperlipidemia and hypertension as they are controlled and often brought below a "normal" level. Blood glucose issues are a bit different in the sense that well controlled blood glucose is still significantly elevated above "normal" in the vast majority of dm.
