Anything is possible: Go see your dr just to be sure it's not related to an insect/tick bite. You may need antibiotics if the redness and swelling worsen. Could just be a benign allergy to something you got in contact with or a simple bruise. In the meantime try applying warm packs, over the counter Hydrocortisone and neosporin cream (neomycin and polymyxin b). Take care.
