Not neccessarily: Blood transfusion is given if the anemia is symptomatic or very low due to active bleeding asymptomatic anemias can be treated with IV iron or iron by mouth.

Feel weak. Lack energy. Get headaches. Lack appitite. Loose stools. Rbc count is low. Hemoglobin and hematocrit. Would that cause these symptoms.
Every few months my hemoglobin drops from normal to life threatening lows in minutes(last being 3.9). I get cold,shake,muscle and joint pain especially in legs.been to the hospital many times needing transfusions. Done lots of tests but no answer?
