Vocal cord: Yelling can causes hemorrhage into a vocal cord which can cause soreness and hoarseness. Other possibility is a vocal cord ulcer which is less hoarse but more pain with swallowing or talking. Ulcers often form if there is also gastric reflux. Suggest voice rest and antacids until pain gone. If it still hurts after two weeks see ent.
