A member asked:

Could my asthma attacks be hormones and/or thyroid-related?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes, sort of: Some can have asthma worsen with estrogens, stage of cycle, and also with thyroid disease. Often the baseline level of asthma defines how likely asthma reacts to these- i.e. If the allergic triggers, sinusitis (if present), ge reflux (if present and if contributing), and if chronic airway inflammation is controlled (usually inhaled corticosteroids), these hormonal factors are less of an issue.
