Difficult to answer: Not sure if there is any concrete connection . However, dust mite allergy is a common trigger for asthmatics as are cockroach droppings and skeletons. Maybe there is a connection like this but not sure.

No relation: Bed bugs bite you and don't cause an allergic response. Dust mites don't bite you and people with asthma can be allergic to proteins from their decomposing bodies ( they are short lived and replicate a lot), same with cockroaches, it is inhaling protein from their dead bodies that can cause asthma and allergies.

No relation.: Bed bugs are not known to cause problems with asthma but do bite their victims. Dust mites, which love in your bed, cause asthma problems in patients that are allergic to dust mite. The allergy is is to the dust mite's gastrointestinal secretions in the dust mite feces. Allergy proof covers on the pillow and mattress will reduce exposure to the dust mites and their feces.
