Why did someone: Suspect this. If they felt an enlarged uterus on exam, or you have heavy periods that may be common reason why a provider would suggest this. A pelvic ultrasound would confirm this and i would recommend speaking to your obgyn about pursuing this further. Fibroids are usually benign tumors but i would follow up with your gyn to get more specific information.
