Usually 6 weeks: Avulsion fractures usually take about 6 weeks to stop hurting. Wearing a cast ora brace can make it more comfortable while healing. Often the pain stops before the x-ray shows it has healed / sometimes it does not heal on the xray but has no pain . Sometime it continues to hurt and may require surgery to get better.

A few months: These injuries are similar to medial ankle ligament injuries and may take a few months to heal.
