Glaucoma: An eye pressure of 15 and 20 are still in the normal range. Hopefully your doctor caught your condition early, prior to any visual loss. The good news is that glaucoma medications are very effective at stopping the condition from advancing.

Yes and no: The diagnosis of glaucoma is made by gathering lots of facts. Patients typically will have elevated eye pressure, signs of optic nerve damage either on exam, visual field testing, comparison with past optic nerve pictures and/or evidence of optic nerve damage by optical coherence tomography (oct) or other optic nerve head imaging analyses. Family history and your past eye history is important.
