Likely not: Small red bumps that almost look like insect bites, but with pale middles, can be a sign of a normal rash. The rash goes away by itself, but has a scary name: erythema toxicum. However, if there is any sign of fever >100 or distress, trouble breathing, or you just have a bad feeling about it, being cautious with a one week old and getting medical attention is a must.

Erythema toxicum: You baby has rash known as erythema toxicum. It is a benign rash that last about two weeks and disappears without any scarring. We don't really know what the cause is.
