Ridged sutures or : overlapping of the cranial bones where they meet can occur from compression of the skull during birth. If head circumference was in the the normal range at birth, continues to grow along its curve & ridging subsides as the cranial bones meet each other edge-to-edge, there's no problem. If coronal sutures fuse too early & head shape changes, evaluation for cause & treatment are warranted.
