I have just had my appendix removed. do i need to change my diet until the post-surgery pain improves? is 'gurgling' or trapped wind common post-op?

Very common, post op: Your diet post appendecomy should be soft and bland with slow advancement to a more normal diet. Post surgery 'gas' and 'gurgling' is normal. Surgical removal of the appendix causes the rest of the small/large bowel to act irregular and irritable. This should slowly regain a normal flow pattern. Avoid heavy foods with high bulk. Avoid gas forming foods. Add probiotics, yogurt. Avoid constipation.
