Wrist & shoulder: May be related to overuse, connective tissue disease, synovitis, sprain, cuff tear, tendonitis, arthritis. The 2 may or may not be related.

Could be...: Swelling for several weeks in a joint without pain if there was no injury or infection is concerning for inflammatory arthritis like RA or psoriatic arthritis. Pain in your shoulder may also be arthritis but you can't see shoulder arthritis on exam so the MRI will be helpful if it is done with IV contrast. If not done with IV contrast, it will be limited to ruling out an injury or osteoarthritis.
