A member asked:

I have harrington rods in my back that were put in 18 years ago. could they be causing problems now?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely after this : Time period but you may be developing adjacent level spine changes at the level your rods and fusion ends or you are one of many who would have the typical risk of developing back pain as an adult independent of your prior surgery. See a spine surgeon if the pain is of concern for you.
