Prenatal diagnosis: There is a strong possibility (75%) that your child will have thalassemia. There is a good chance (50%) that it will be thalassemia minor, like what each of you have. There is a possibility that your child has inherited the thalassemia genes from both mom and dad. This will produce a more severe thalassemia. Prenatal diagnosis are possible.
